Over the past couple of days members of the international information science community have been heading to Washington DC for the 80th Annual Meeting of the Association for Information Science and Technology (#ASIST2017). Sadly I am not one of them, but my PhD student Frances Ryan (who should be somewhere over the Atlantic as I write this) will be there to present a poster at the conference.
This work, which Frances has developed with the members of her supervision team (myself, Peter Cruickshank, and Alistair Lawson), is entitled ‘Building identity in online environments: an Information Science perspective‘. Frances has also prepared a handout with further information about the content of the poster and her PhD.
If you are one of the lucky people attending #ASIST2017 you’ll find Frances presenting our work during the President’s Reception on 30th October (6.30-8.00 pm) at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City (Independence Level, Center A). If you are not attending, here’s a photograph of Frances and the poster, snapped in my office in Edinburgh yesterday afternoon. (To see the poster in greater detail, it is also available as a pdf download from Frances’ web site.)
