During his future visits to the School of Computing Brian will become further involved in a range of our activities to develop teaching and research collaborations. These include, for example, delivering presentations on his research and mentoring PhD students. He is especially keen to expand his current research on digital storytelling to forge partnerships to replicate and expand his recent success in Canada on an international scale. His next visit is planned for October 2016.

I am personally delighted with this appointment having worked with Brian on a number of initiatives over the years, both in the UK and North America. We were most recently papers co-chairs of the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIST) held in St Louis, Missouri last November. I am very much looking forward to working with Brian further in the future, especially now that he is a fellow (visiting) colleague at Edinburgh Napier University.
