The Centre for Social Informatics had a very successful day at Edinburgh Napier University’s 2016 Research Conference last Wednesday.  We presented our work in three of the sessions:

Gemma Webster, Colin Smith, & Hazel Hall

The biggest thrill of the day came towards the end of day at the Principal’s Research Excellence Awards ceremony. The School of Computing won the most prizes, with our research centre the most successful group in the University. Iris Buunk won the Best poster prize, Frances Ryan was recognised for her Outstanding contribution to University life as a research student, and I was the joint winner of the prize for the Best contribution to the Information Society research theme. We celebrated our wins with smoky cocktails in chemistry lab beakers at the ‘bar’ during the evening showcase session.
