Applications invited for 25 PhD studentships at Edinburgh Napier University, start date 1 October 2015

Edinburgh Napier logoEdinburgh Napier University is currently inviting applications for 25 fully-funded PhD studentships across a range of research areas. Included in these areas are six topics of relevance to the research interests of the Centre for Social Informatics. These are:

  • e-Government
  • Information policy
  • Information seeking behaviour and use
  • Knowledge management
  • Online communities
  • Open data and open government

If you are interested in submitting an application for one of the 25 studentships to study for a PhD in one of the areas listed above please note the timescales below:

  • Applications (including research proposals) are due by Friday 10th April 2015.
  • Interviews will take place in May and June 2015.
  • The studentships will start on Thursday 1st October 2015.

To be eligible to apply for one of these places you should hold a good honours degree (2.1 or first), and a Masters degree (or hold a good honours degree with the expectation of completing your Masters degree before October 2015). Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are prerequisites of any successful application.

Please note that the Centre for Social Informatics is also currently advertising another PhD studentship. This is for a particular project on organisational learning and innovation, which is supported by the ESRC Scottish Graduate School of Social Sciences Doctoral Training Centre and Skills Development Scotland. The closing date for this other studentship is Monday 20th April.
