All set for ECIL 2023

ECIL 2023 | European Conference on Information LiteracyThe 2023 European Conference on Information Literacy (ECIL2023) takes place in Krakow, Poland this coming week from Monday 9th until Thursday 12th October.

ECIL conferences provide a forum for an international community of researchers, information professionals, media specialists, educators, policy makers and others to share their knowledge, expertise, and experience on theory and practice as related to Information Literacy.

Colleagues from the Social Informatics Research Group have contributed to past ECIL conferences. For example, in 2017 Bruce Ryan travelled to St Malo, France to present a paper on exploring Information Literacy through the lens of Activity on behalf of the three co-authors: myself, Peter Cruickshank, and Bruce himself; at ECIL 2021 PhD student Marina Milosheva and lecturer David Brazier represented the group in the delivery of two presentations

Media and Information Literacy AllianceAt this year’s ECIL conference, there is an opportunity to hear about further research conducted by Peter Cruickshank, Bruce Ryan, and Marina Milosheva. Completed in association with the Media and Information Literacy Alliance, this considers extant knowledge on the impact of Information Literacy interventions. The presentation slides are available to preview, and the full project report is available to download.

In addition, Social Informatics PhD student Drew Feeney will be participating in the ECIL2023 doctoral forum.

Find out more about the Social Informatics Research Group’s two contributions to ECIL2023 in the recent post on the Social Informatics blog.
