Natural language interfaces to support career decision-making of young people Marianne Wilson TMT three minute thesisCongratulations to Centre for Social Informatics research student Marianne Wilson, winner of the Masters award in the Skills Development (SDS) Scotland Virtual 3MT competition 2021.

Having just completed the MScR in Science and Technology Studies at the University of Edinburgh, Marianne has come to the end of the first year of her 1+3 ESRC/SDS funded PhD studentship, and will be starting her doctoral study under the supervision of Dr Peter Cruickshank, Dr Dimitra Gkatzia, and Professor Pete Robertson at Napier next month. In her winning presentation Marianne introduces her doctoral research project on the application of artificial intelligence dialogue systems to support the delivery of careers guidance in Scotland.

The award was judged by a panel that comprised Dr Patrick Watt, Head of Evaluation and Research at SDS, Professor Mhairi Mackenzie of the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science, and Dr Scott Hurrell of the University of Glasgow.
